Emma Stewart from Netflix joins the podcast to discuss the Netflix’s Net-Zero + Nature strategy and sustainability leadership in the entertainment industry.
As Netflix’s first Sustainability Officer, Emma Stewart, Ph.D., works with teams from across the company to reduce the streaming service’s carbon footprint to zero, promote environmental awareness through movies and TV shows, and encourage discussion about climate action among its 190 million subscribers worldwide. She formerly oversaw the organization’s international efforts in the areas of urban efficiency, climate change, and finance. She was on the boards of both the Ecomedes software company and the United States Green Building Council. She has held positions on the professional faculty at Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where she has taught “Intrapreneurship for Sustainability.”
She graduated with an honors B.A. in human sciences from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in environmental science and management from Stanford University.
